All creatives have their routines, their own special ways of finessing their lives and preparing their surroundings to give them their best shot at the right mood or atmosphere for their very best work. Creating the right external conditions to support creativity does have its place, but it doesn’t take care of the whole picture, and so tends to be something of a hit and miss affair.
If you rely solely on external circumstances and resources, then when these fickle friends dry up, so will you. This stands to reason, and we can each of us verify the truth of this for ourselves. An internally driven resource, on the other hand, is always there for you, and this is what our Creativity Workshops and secular meditation courses are for. You can still do the crossword puzzle before you work, or go for a walk, or whatever is it that gets you going, but add a basic level of mental training, and you add a whole new dimension to your creative process.

Once you develop a technique that brings peace of mind, staves off sleepiness, steadies you through bouts of restlessness; and then brightens up your mind, then that’s a technique you'll have for life.
